Duke Energy sends us a report on our home every month.
Our home uses consistently 20-30% less electricity than the "efficient home", adjusted for size, age and heat source, according to Duke's own statistics. The average home uses twice as much or more power than we do. They don't provide information on "inefficient homes" but I'd hate to be paying that power bill. We don't do anything draconian to conserve power, or generate our own with rooftop solar. We just are diligent about not using what we don't need, and have taken steps to improve the sealing and insulation. Granted, only two of us live here, but that's typical for our size home.
